Can you tell we love Philly cheese steaks yet? At work we were talking about our favorite types of pizza and
this pizza came up in particular. I went home told Waymon about it and the rest
was history. We were fighting over the leftovers and not a single bite was
leftover on any of our plates. This was something fun that we created together
as a family and you can’t beat that! This is our FAVE pizza at the moment. The
crust that I created for this pizza is to die for as well. Check out the link
for more details.
INGREDIENTS
- 3 cups Alfredo Sauce ( more or less just make sure to generously cover your pizza crust)
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced thin ( you don’t want excess water from these to make a soggy crust)
- 1/2 large red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 small green pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 cups of cheese ( you can use mozzarella, we used blend since it was all we had on hand)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lb. flank steak ( any thin steak will work for this)
- Sprinkle of Parmesan cheese
- 1 pizza crust store bought or homemade (I made this crust and added cornmeal to the pan before placing the dough on top. BEST CRUST EVER)
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- Create your pizza crust (or place your store bought pizza crush on a pizza pan). I added cornmeal to the pan after greasing it to add a little umph to my pizza.
- Take your steak and slice it thin before seasoning with
S&P, set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil over medium high heat in a large skillet.
- Add onions and sauté.
- Add steak to the skillet and cook until medium rare (meat will fully cook in the oven).
- Add in peppers and mushrooms sautéing everything
through and take off heat.
- Season once again with S&P.
- Transfer to a paper towel lined plate to soak up extra moisture.
- Taking your crust spread Alfredo sauce evenly over the dough
- Sprinkle cheese evenly over the crust.
- Top with meat mixture. * You may add more cheese at this step
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until crust is golden.
- Take out of oven and sprinkle entire pizza with parmesan cheese then broil for 1-2 minutes.
