I thought it would be time again to do another “Day in the
Life” series for you all on the blog. This time around it’s a Sunday, a lazy Sunday.
In the Wells’ household, we really don’t like to do much on Sunday’s other than
spend our time at home. It’s our day to actually relax and wind down from our
entire week. Haidyn even knows that it’s Sunday because she can sleep in as
late as she wants to and take as many naps as she’d like too. The Sunday I documented was a couple Sunday’s
ago when we had after a hectic week of graduations and celebrations.
Like any other weekend morning, I am the first one up
usually always around 6:30 am. This
morning in particular I decided to wake up at 6:30 am and lay in bed until 7:00
am to catch up on my social media , games I’m currently addicted to (
Cooking Fever and Cinderella Free Fall ) and just be lazy before greeting the
day.

Since we had a whirlwind of a Saturday, the kitchen was a
mess along with the living room and Haidyn’s playroom, therefore coffee was a
must before tackling everything. The day before, we had gone to a craft fair to
support the local vendors of Reno and bought our favorite coffee from our
favorite tea and coffee shop: Too Soul Tea Co. If you haven’t been, you have to go! Their coffee is seriously the
best coffee ever. I made a huge batch of coffee and began to
clean the house and slowly start my day.
Before I knew it, a couple hours had passed and Waymon
started to wake up and shortly after Haidyn woke up too. She was so excited to
be up, probably because we told her that she was going to test out the pool
this morning. We put her in a bathing suit for the first time this summer
season and let her wander the house, as usual. You would be amazed how fast she can get
around the house. We ate a little breakfast, read books, made playdough, played
with playdough, did some laundry, sang our ABC’s and blew up her princess floater
boat before heading to the pool.
I wanted to test the waters with Haidyn, since we wanted to
enroll her in swimming lessons this summer. I didn’t want to pay money for swim
lessons for her to not have any fun. But overall I’m glad we tested the waters
with her because she loved it. She was a little scared at first, but she couldn’t
help but have fun! Who can resist having fun in the sun and pool with Daddy? We
ended up leaving the pool to hang out at the park before heading home, just so
that we weren’t soaking wet when we got home.

We dried off fairly quickly and headed home to shower and
put Haidyn down for a nap. She was out like a light before we knew it- she must
be growing. The girl can sleep like there’s no tomorrow. As she napped, I finished
up the cleaning and the laundry before relaxing and watching some GG’s since we
didn’t have to be anywhere until 1:45 pm.
We had to wake Haidyn up to get ready for a sushi lunch at
Ijji 2 with our favorite graduate. We made it just in time to eat since Waymon
and I were starving! Haidyn ate everything on her plate and tried to say “Hi” to just about everyone at the sushi
joint.

We left the sushi place for Sam’s Club to stock up on our
fruits for the week and little miss independent had to push the cart once again
because that’s just what big girls do! After our shopping trip we headed home
to relax and put Haidyn down for her 2nd nap before heading out to
Winco to get the stuff we couldn’t buy at Sam’s . We didn’t want to go back to
back since we knew that Haidyn was exhausted.

She woke up and we headed to the store quickly before
settling in for the night for dinner. We had empanadas , so delicious that they
were not pictured. After dinner we decided to retire to the living room to read
some books before bed. She cuddled between us and listened as I read to her. It
took us 3 times to get her to lay down that night since I decided to give her
gummy bears for the first time. So her usual bed time was pushed from 7:45pm
ish to 10:00 pm. Never again! But
when she fell asleep, so did I.
Lesson learned; no
gummy bears hours before bedtime. Silly me, what in the world was I thinking?
