How to Clean Your Misto

My mom bought us the Misto so that we wouldn't waste money on cooking spray. The Misto is really great for saving you a penny on buying the latter so often. Let's face it... those sprays don't stay alive for very long before you have to buy another. They're sold in 3 packs at Costco, if I'm not mistaken.
The only thing about the Misto vs store bought cooking spray is the fact that you have to clean the darn thing. It's not as difficult as I thought. It's well worth it. You need to make sure you clean it every so often so that it doesn't clog. If you're me, you didn't clean yours very often and have owned it for awhile. My Misto was clogged so much so that I couldn't use it, therefore I HAD to clean it. :( Now my Misto is as good as new and I know how to clean the sucker.. finally!

Directions:

  1. Fill your Misto to the fill line with hot tap water
  2. Add dish soap to water and shake to mix water and soap
  3. Pump 10-15 times
  4. Spray for 10 seconds
  5. Allow soapy water to stay in sprayer overnight to break down oils in the sprayer

6. Rinse out Misto
7. Repeat steps 3, 4 and 6 with new hot water.
8.Fill up with oil and use!

Make your own Frappucino!

I love Frappucinos, but they are a little pricey for coffee with sugar and creamer don't you think? I made a way for my husband and I ( I don't always drink caffeinated coffee especially while pregnant) to enjoy our "frappucinos" without breaking our budgets and using the stuff we already have on hand.

Ingredients:

  • 4.5 cups of coffee
  • 1/2 cup creamer (I used French Vanilla)
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar

Directions:
  1. Brew coffee and place in large bowl
  2. Mix everything together in large bowl

  1. Place in your choice of container and enjoy!

It really is that simple. You can adjust the sweetness to your taste as you please and play around with what you like best. I had everything at home and it was so simple that I probably will never buy that expensive bottled stuff ever again!

DIY Baby Closet Dividers

All I wanted was to keep myself sane separate her clothes by the ages. We got a lot of cute outfits and I didn't want to dig through them all later on. I made these dividers to help me keep my sanity. I didn't want to buy them knowing that she will grow so fast and that they're really expensive when you do buy them.

What you need:

  • Twine
  • Sharpie
  • Cardstock
  • Hole puncher

Directions:
1. Write the size of clothes on card stock
2. Hole punch the top of the card stock
3. Cut twine long enough for you to loop though card stock and hang around closet bar.
4. Loop twine through card stock
5. Hang up the card stock.
6. Viola!

These dividers get the job done. They're inexpensive. They're practical. They are also going to come in handy when this baby girl gets more and more and more clothes.... :)

Freezable Breakfast Burritos!

Waymon gets up really early to go to work. So breakfast on the go is perfect for him. He can microwave this and eat it on the way to work. I made a weeks worth so that I can change up the ingredients for him. I'm not a burrito- rollin queen but I made these so it's not impossible! His tummy is happy and I'm not worried that my husband is starving to death in the morning. Everyone is happy!

Swiss Chard Week

How far along?  37 weeks! WE'RE FULL TERM!!

Total weight gain/loss:  146.2 lbs this week. +0.2 lbs this week and an overall gain of +27.7lbs.

Maternity clothes?   I had to give up my maternity jeans :( The built in band is suffocating! So my belly band is where it's at.

Stretch marks? Same stretch marks. :)

Sleep: I'm wanting to sleep more and more and more and more and more... Get it? ha. I've slept 9 hours almost every night this week and I'm still sooo tired. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself anymore.

Best moments this week:
-Our doctor appointment this week:) We got to hear her heartbeat. It always makes my heart melt. She's healthy. We're measuring big... 40 cm actually thanks to all of my fluid. My OB has no complaints for baby girl and I. He is a bit worried that she might be too big for me to deliver vaginally. I'm not scared though. I know she's not HUGE! We got this!
-My work baby shower was pretty amazing. My coworkers gathered for a quick lunch and showered me with gifts, even when I asked them not to!

Miss anything?  Not having to pee every two seconds. It's a little ridiculous now because when you have the urge to go.. you just have to go.

Movement: She's moving all the time. Her favorite spot is to put her fingers/toes/entire hand in between my ribs. It is painful, but I'm going to miss it. She's been hiccuping a lot these days. It's so funny. Poor baby!

Food cravings: Infused water is all I want. I'm loving more fluids than anything else.

Anything making you queasy or sick: nope! .

Gender: baby girl

Labor signs: Nah!

Symptoms: Pelvis is still sore. Lots of Braxton Hicks... haha that I didn't even know were Braxton Hicks.

Belly button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? On, but it's so loose now.

Happy or moody most of the time:  VERY VERY HAPPY!

Looking forward to:  Meeting my baby girl.

Canary Melon Week

How far along?  36 weeks!!! 4 more weeks to go!

Total weight gain/loss:  146 lbs this week. +0.8 lbs this week and an overall gain of +27.5lbs.

Maternity clothes?  Just the belly band and belly belt for my work pants. I'm wearing my same t-shirts and layering them with tanks. I have no shame with my big belly!

Stretch marks? YUP! AND DAMN PROUD!
I've been taking good care of them even if I do have them. I smile when I see them now. I'm not embarrassed by any means. I'm healthy. Baby girl is healthy. I've got no complaints! So what are a few marks ? I'm not a swimsuit model anyways.

Sleep: I'm sleeping a lot better. It's actually scary! haha. I've been getting up to check IG and FB when Waymon has to get up and when he leaves I sleep for an hour and get up again. I'm weird, but I don't want to not see him before he leaves for the day.

Best moments this week:
The baby shower was the best day this week. We've been preparing for months now and seeing it all come together was the best. It was perfect. We saw all of our family and friends. We ate lots of food. Seeing all of the love and joy that our little girl brings is just priceless.

Miss anything?  Being able to wear my seatbelt properly. My tummy is so big that the seatbelt is choking me.

Movement: Big time! She wakes Daddy up in the morning before work. She moves for music. She responds to when Auntie Stace is being weird too. hhaha! Too funny.

Food cravings: Does tea count? I really just want gallons and gallons of tea. I've also been drinking so much water because somehow I'm always thirsty even if I drink all day.

Anything making you queasy or sick: nope! .

Gender: baby girl

Labor signs: Nah!

Symptoms: Sore pelvis, I can feel her weight just sitting there. Swelling feet? I've been wearing really awful shoes this week that are not comfortable so that could be why too. I'm not so hungry anymore. I could just not eat and at this point I make myself eat even when I don't want to. Rashes!! Oh my god! It's so gross.

Belly button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? On, but it's so loose now.

Happy or moody most of the time:  VERY VERY HAPPY!

Looking forward to:  Work baby shower tomorrow ! Meeting my GIRL!!!!

Baby Shower

I picked the day of the shower blindly when I was 3 months pregnant at work. I remember sitting at my desk and looking at my calendar telling Stacy, "I think we should have it on April 15th since it's a month before we're due." Stacy nodded her head wrote the date down on her calendar. Slowly, we were madly pinteresting everything we thought we would like for the shower from food to decor and etc. Our imaginary shower on our pinterest boards were amazing, but they didn't compare to the shower we had .

Everything fell into place. The  invitations, the food, the decor, the rsvps and etc. Waymon and I decided that we wanted our shower to be coed so that it was for us and not just for me. The more the merrier. The location was our home so that we could finally have a gathering in it.

People were arriving on that beautiful Saturday afternoon. It was such an amazing feeling to see all of our family and friends celebrate our little girl with us.  Friends brought their yummy signature dishes to share. Friends helped us set up the party. Friends and Family helped make us make our vision come alive. Grandpa Willie killed it on the grill with burgers and brats. Grandma Tracey and Grandma Esther mastered mingling with everyone at the party while cleaning up. Stacy, H's godmother<3, surprised us with the most beautiful cake for her. Our guests showered us in gifts tailored to baby girl. We've never seen so much pink!

There were no traditional games, instead we had people write on diapers for us:) Everyone loved mingling while they ate. A perfect day for our girl was the best thing we could've asked for. We've never felt so blessed to see everyone pour into our house laughing with us and genuinely so happy for our family. Words cannot explain how happy we felt that day. It was exactly what Waymon and I wanted. We cannot thank everyone enough for helping us everything, stopping by and sharing our happiness. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Honeydew Week

How far along?  35 weeks and 2 days

Total weight gain/loss:  145.2 this week. +2.2 lbs this week and an overall gain of +26.7 lbs.

Maternity clothes?  This week nothing maternity except for my belly band and my 0's are fallin off!! AHHH! It makes me so hopeful. :)

Stretch marks? 35 weeks hit and I got my stretch marks.  I texted Waymon the morning I saw them because they did come out of nowhere and teared up. I had no idea what to do since my weight gain has been constant. My doctor said I was perfect on my gain along with baby girl. I didn't scratch at my tummy or anything... However, I am measuring bigger than normal because of my amniotic fluid. The latter is probably why I am finally stretching without all of the fluid I probably wouldn't have them.

I use to be apprehensive about having stretch marks. I use to think that I would be ugly if I had them or that my husband wouldn't look at me the same if I had them on my stomach. I look at them now and I'm proud of them because it means I'm growing a beautiful and perfectly healthy girl in me. I learned that there are so much more than what meets the eye. I look at these marks below my belly button as beautiful and for my daughter. That my husband wouldn't love me less, but loves me so much more knowing I'm growing our child.

Sleep: With the baby shower this week, I haven't been able to sleep very well. I'm constantly thinking of what else I need to get, do and etc.

Best moments this week:
It's a toss up between my husband telling me how much he loved me and my body with my new stretch marks, seeing a 4D scan of her face  and Miss H kicking her daddy while we were out to eat.
<3I honestly have the best husband in the world. I don't know what I would do without him encouraging me every step of the way.
<3 I still can't get over his face every time he feels her kick or squirm. She's so happy to show off for her Daddy. :)
<3 I teared up a bit when I saw her face on the 4D scan. I didn't think my daughter would resemble me in anyway. I knew it was possible, but I couldn't picture what she would actually look like. I'm obsessed with her.

Miss anything?  Not a damn thing

Movement: Always :D

Food cravings: Nothing this week.

Anything making you queasy or sick: nope! .

Gender: little mama

Labor signs: Nah!

Symptoms: Sore pelvis. Dry skin on my neck. Sore back. Sore ribs. Blurred vision. Emotional.

Belly button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? On, but it's so loose now.

Happy or moody most of the time:  VERY VERY HAPPY!

Looking forward to:  Baby shower today! Work baby shower next week! Baby having in less than 5 weeks!

Large Cantaloupe Week

How far along?  34 weeks and 1 day

Total weight gain/loss:  143 lbs this week. A gain of +.08lbs from last week and overall gain of +24.5 lbs. I can't believe that I've put that much weight on. I never thought that would be possible.

Maternity clothes?  Same same same

Stretch marks? I think I'm getting to the point that everything looks like a stretch mark. I'm proud of the weight I've gained, but I think my marks are slowly coming in. I haven't scratched or anything, but I think baby girl is just getting too big for me. From what I see, what I think are stretch marks are pink... like the rest of my tummy right now. They're below my belly button, almost underneath my belly. I guess we will have to see if these are really marks or just my imagination again.

Sleep:  I'm doing so much better with sleeping earlier. I can't help, but lay down and fall asleep now. I try to wait for Waymon, but lately I can't do it. I'm in bed by like 730.

Best moments this week:
Hands down, speaking with my cousin- Ellie- about delivering and babies in general. So far everyone I've spoke with ( or involuntarily gives me advice)  says the same thing about delivery.. "You'll be fine" . You know how useless that is when I have specific questions? Ellie and I spoke about the good and the bad. She didn't hold back on anything I needed to know about. She didn't tell me "you'll be fine", instead she opened my eyes to looking at birth at such a beautiful event. An event that would change my life forever and am made to do. I couldn't thank her enough for all of the advice she gave and the closer we get to our due date I'm at ease knowing that I can and will get through this being more prepared with helpful information.

Miss anything?  Tieing my shoes. Picking stuff up off of the floor without grunting like a moron.

Movement: Yes ! Our little girl is a mover . As she moves as I write this blog. :)

Food cravings: Nothing this week.

Anything making you queasy or sick: nope! .

Gender: little mama

Labor signs: Nah!

Symptoms: Sore pelvis. Dry skin on my neck. Sore back. Sore ribs. Blurred vision. Emotional.

Belly button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? On, but it's so loose now.

Happy or moody most of the time:  VERY VERY HAPPY!

Looking forward to:  Baby shower decorating, baby shower partying, doctor appointments next week, Jon's birthday <3 & having a baby :)

Baby Girl Infinity Scarf

Because I made myself breast feeding infinity scarves, I couldn't come up with a reason NOT to make baby girl some scarves of her own. My mom bought me a few bandanas and I didn't know what to use them for until I got the idea of making baby sized scarves! She might not be able to wear these guys when she's like 6 months, but I'm sure I can adjust them to her head size when needed. They were simple to make and I made three of them in about an hour while I was watching Breaking Bad.

-Start by laying fabric out on a solid surface. I laid mine on my floor. My fabric was folded in half (length wise) when I laid it out. I used a regular bandana that you would get anywhere.

-Fold the fabric up, so that it's a square.
-Pin the opposite side of the fold and sew. I sewed mine using a needle and thread :) I don't have a sewing machine, but if I did I would cut close to the seam of the pinned side when finished.
-Flip scarf inside out so that the side that you sewed (if hand sewn ) does not show.
-Let your baby rock these bad boys! :)

Finished scarves flattened

I can't wait to get more fabric for her! This was too much fun and they're so freakin cute! Each little scarf has it's own little personality with it. I love it!
