Ro's Baking Line

Haidyn loves Rosanna Pansino. There’s not a day that goes by that she doesn’t watch at least one of her videos on Youtube. She’s glued to her . Haidyn refers to Ro as her “cake lady”. I’m so impressed with how much she loves Ro. Not only because I love her and watching her show because she’s inspired my girl to bake because she loves it. Haidyn’s always helped me in the kitchen so she’s no stranger to cooking with me . Now she has her own set of cookie cutters, mixing spatulas and an amazing poop mold!

She will always starts off her meals saying " The things you'll need will be " just like Ro ! Usually she will tell you that you need butter even if you don't need butter . She knows that everything is better with a little butter.  Right before she mixes everything together she will tell you " Now let's put it allllll together".

For sure, she will be making the entire family everything and anything shaped like a poop emoji  just in time for Christmas . I love seeing her in the kitchen as happy as she is in these pictures. Nothing makes me happier than seeing her this happy doing what she absolutely loves. She doesn't know it yet, but she's probably going to get more of this baking line for Christmas. Let's keep it our little secret.

August Meal Prep | Week Five

It’s the last meal prep of the summer! It’s so bittersweet that summer is slowly coming to an end, but I’m excited for some weather that’s not scorching hot. Nevada summer’s have been unforgiving, but I’m savoring the little time we have left regardless. This is also the last meal prep before our Whole 30 Meal Prep! Stay tuned for that as the entire Wells family is getting in on the Whole 30 action. It’s going to be a very interesting 30 days J . Of course, this weekend is the Rib Cook Off weekend so we HAVE to start Whole 30 after that. I will keep you all posted. Our meal prep this week is simple and full of veggies. It’s my last week of Shift Shop Round 1 and I’m cutting carbs. I went a little ( a lot ) overboard yesterday at lunch with my Southwestern Salad so I’m really upset with myself because this morning I gained back ALL of the weight I had lost in one day, but I’m not letting it affect me. I’m getting to my goal one way of another!

Good Dog-gone Workouts

Many of you that follow me on social media and know that my bluenose pitty is always working out with me . There's never a day that she's not right by my side while I work out. Trust me, I've fought with her to leave me alone but there is no use to it. Instead I've learned to embrace it. I've learned to incorporate her in my daily workouts so that we both get a great heart pumping workout and stay healthy. Here are a few of my tips that help me workout and stay sane with my favorite pit-bull. :)

1. Yoga / Stretching

At least one a week my one of my workouts consists some type of stretching or yoga. I will roll out a mat for Rory so that we can stretch together. She definitely beats me when it comes to downward dog , but I'm working on my form. She feels like she's working out right with me and I feel like I'm struggling a little less (on most days).

2. Running/Walking on the trails

Of course, the obvious workout for dogs is getting them out to walk or run. Pit bulls are infamous for their stamina and energy so letting out all her energy is a must!  We have wonderful trails around our home and I utilize them so that we both get a great workout in. I even let her off her leash (if possible) so that she can run and roam as she pleases. I can't always keep up with her believe it or not! It's more of a push and pull relationship .

3. Active fetch / Chase Sesh

I don't know what it is about fetching that Rory despises but she does. She doesn't trust ANYONE playing fetch with her, but we try to play fetch with her regardless and it almost always turns into a chase session. So we're running around the yard and chasing each other having a blast tripping over each other.

4. Keeping up with toddlers

Letting Rory run wild and free with Haidyn ( where-ever we are) always seems to drain Rory . It's the first time you will ever see my pup NOT keep up. Whatever they play together will wear her down and I'm thankful for two tired babes at the end of the day ! For you parents out there you know keeping up with a toddler is no east feat.

5. Workout warrior

Remember when I told you that I no longer fight her when she work outs with me? She's so curious to what I'm doing so she blocks me when I'm doing a workout so that I know to keep in bounds . She's also makes me work faster. She doesn't allow me to skip or sit down during a workout . She's nudging me to get up and get it done.

Being active and staying active with your pups is so vital for their health and yours believe it or not. The more active they are the more you stay active. Coincidentally enough, when we brought Rory home that was my purpose for re-homing her. I wanted to stay active with her and almost 2 years in and she's kept me on my toes to say the least. Did you all know that it's national dog day! Naturally, this post is dedicated to my favorite pit bull fur baby Rory. I've partnered up with Puppyspot for this post . Puppyspot is a wonderful community of dog lovers such as myself . They have great information on finding the next love of your life through responsible breeders and how to continue to love your puppy family member when you've take them home. Literary Booked | Vol. Two

When I took a picture of all the books I read from April through June I was truly shocked. I kicked my yearly goals ass in half a year! I did nothing but read day in and day out and I was completely lost in reality. I had no complaints whatsoever. I of course stopped reading so much when my nephew passed because life just got so chaotic suddenly. I’ve taken a long break from reading, but I can’t wait to finish out the year strong on my reading list! Also, I will finally be able to read because I finished Game Of Thrones. ( I couldn’t get anything done while I was bingeing that glorious show!)

My books for this quarter were:

01.   Howl Allen Ginsberg – This is a short poem book. If you’re a Gilmore Girl fan you know that this is the “Jess” book. It’s very raw and real. It definitely shows you a taste of the world back in the day when the world was to be perfect and others were fighting hard to not be censored.
02.   The Perks of Being A Wallflower Steven Chobsky – I’ve watched the movie years ago and tried to watch the read the book immediately after and it never panned out. I finished the book in two days this year and it definitely still resonates with me. We make such a difference in people's lives and we don't even know it.
03.   The Year of Magical Thinking Joann Didon- Oddly enough I read this book right before I lost my nephew and it helped me get through the pain and the hurt. This book is amazing. It starts off slow, but if you're going through grief or have ever gone through it. You will understand where she's coming from and she really does touch base on every feeling you will have throughout your grief process. I promise, it does get better with time.
04.   13 Reasons Why Jay Asher - I wish I read this book in high school. I wasn't an outcast perse in high school, but towards the end of my senior year I wasn't having such a great experience . I felt exactly like this and after binging the show and reading the book I'm so glad that I didn't end everything back then. This book reminds you that we make an impact in people's lives whether we believe that or not.
05.   A Dog’s Purpose Bruce Cameron- This is the first book that's made me cry in such a long time. I have a soft spot especially when it comes to my dog Rory. It captures the dog's perspective perfectly and I definitely love Rory so much more now because of this book. I need her more than she needs me that's for sure. Also if you're trying to watch the movie , ditch it and read the book instead. The movie doesn't do this book ANY justice.
06.   Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone J.K Rowling
07.   Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets  J.K Rowling
08.   Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban  J.K Rowling
I've started  the Harry Potter obsession. I will admit that I tried to read this series when it first came out, but because I didn't read that well in the fourth grade I wasn't interested. Now, it's a completely different story. I love this series and even though I already know what happens I love going through all of the details and diving into the world J.K Rowling creates. It's like nothing I've read before. I can't wait to finish the series by the end of the year!
