This week has been one of those weeks that it seems like I'm fast forwarding through since I'm extremely tired. The week came and went faster than I could write this up for you all!

 [01.]
Move Night took place in our home last weekend.
Waymon and I can NEVER rent just one movie. I don’t know what it is, but we have to rent at least 2 movies to make renting worth our while. I’ve been hunting down these two movies for what seems like forever now and we FINALLY got to watch them! <<Gone Girl>> I watched this movie last Sunday with Waymon because of all of the recommendations from my friends. My intention was to read the book THEN watch the movie, but that wasn’t how things panned out. I’m excited that I finally got to watch this movie though. I was in suspense the entire time. It did such a great job keeping you on edge and wanting to know more. I definitely will sit there and read the book, hopefully sometime this year. Haha I have so many books on my nightstand to read that I haven’t gotten to. Watching this movie definitely put me in the mood to read!<<Alexander and the terrible no good very bad day>> We loved this movie! Any movie with Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner is right up our alley.  I loved how the moral of the movie was to always be positive no matter what the situation may be. I told Waymon how I actually love the chaos of their family in the movie. They had 4 kids and a working mom, so you know that I was all over that aspect of it. It’s no secret to my husband that I want a big family. Haidyn even sat down for a while watching the movie with us. I’m pretty sure she liked all of the commotion as well.

[02.]
I’ve been obsessed with Kurt lately ever since Waymon bought me a Nirvana CD and I watched his documentary at the beginning of this year. I know it’s cliché of me, but I feel like I just need to know everything about him. I’m a complete fan girl as of lately I will admit and this new documentary will be the icing on the cake for me. If there is going to be a date night in our near future, I want it to be to the premiere of this movie on HBO; If we can’t get our hands on the HBO premiere then I’ll have to wait until the DVD comes out :[  The trailer got me hooked right away, but I mean how it could not when it is Kurt Cobain? I’m interested to see what this documentary has that the others don’t.
[03.]
Once a year my sister typically comes to visit during the kids’ Spring Break. This year it was even more amazing to see her and the kids since Haidyn got to hang out with them too. Last year when she came it was when Haidyn was a little older than 3 months or so.  My sister loved Haidyn and Haidyn absolutely adored my sister. Who could resist Auntie Love? I’m glad that I finally get to enjoy motherhood as my sister has all these years. I can’t wait until she comes to visit again when Bean is WALKING! Ahh that’s trouble on its own. ;]

[04.]
I wanted to take a moment and express truly blessed I am with great friends that have turned into my family. I’m not always able to get together with them due to my hectic schedule, but when we get together via face time or in person I’m so grateful. This past week Haidyn and I got to hang out with my childhood best friend: Brigid via face time. Haidyn was so excited that she kept saying “Hi” throughout our conversation. While on the weekend, we got to get together with Auntie Shann and the girls. I loved hanging out at the parks with the girls and Shann. Haidyn loves her cousins even if she does get a little claustrophobic with them around haha.

[05.]
Overnight oats In my attempts to become healthier and not overeat I’ve become obsessed with overnight oats for breakfast. It’s an easy way to get breakfast in without having to over think it. I try to make them 3 days in advance so that I always have something to eat in the morning without having to rush. This breakfast keeps me full for a long time most times until lunch without a snack and I eat it around 6:00 am (lunch is at noon). Here is how I make them. :]

[06.]
I’ve been making our own bread and I’m getting pretty good at making them.  So far I’ve made us wheat bread, French bread and cheddar jalapeno bread. I promise to posts on the breads soon. It’s such a messy process that I hate having to hold my camera as I make it. The recipes are easy and my they are so much better than store bought. I definitely appreciate it more since I make it myself. Waymon is definitely in love with the fact that his wife can make any bread he wants now. I may have gotten myself in trouble with that one ahah. :] But if any of you have any easy recipes for bread let me know! I’d love to recreate the and I will be posting my recipes soon.

[07.]

I read the viral “Why We Need to Stop Asking, 'How Do You Do It All?”, by the Huffington Post this week and it really sat with me all week. I can’t tell you how exhausted I am of telling people I can’t do it all, but I do what I can. I’ve already figured out that I will never be the perfect all, though I may try it’s just not possible. My husband cleans up the kitchen and does our laundry on the days that I end up falling asleep with Haidyn. I’ve learned to take like one moment at a time because that moment with Haidyn and Waymon is a lot more important that a clean house or having the laundry done. I love this post!

[08.]

Speaking of how important family is to me. It’s no secret that Waymon and I want a bigger family. We’re not quite sure how big we want our family, but we’re pretty certain that we want at least 1 more child. We talk about baby names, our possible new home, a new dog and etc for our family and I can't help but by giddy! I don’t know when it’s all happening yet, but we’ve assumed sometime in our future (not anytime near) . The thought of thinking of our growing family excites me more than anything. I loved being pregnant with Haidyn and I love seeing my husband become the best father there is. We both secretly wish that we will have another little girl next to complete our family. If we have everything planned right, we will try again in a few years so that we’re more situated with Haidyn because God knows we don’t need two babies in the house!
[09.]
I went shopping with Haidyn for her Easter basket and it has the coolest stuff in it that I already know she is going to love. It's different from my vision of her basket, thanks to me never finding anything at our local stores. I can't wait until she sees it next week!

Have a Great Week Everyone!

2015 Easter Basket

Easter is so close to Haidyn’s birthday that we decided that we have to go small compared to her birthday presents, but big enough were she can celebrate it. I didn't want to confuse her to think that she has 2 birthdays this year since Easter is April 5th this year and her birthday is April 14th. Last year, she got all dressed up for Easter but way too small to go anywhere. This year I wanted to get her a few things so that she’d finally get to enjoy her Easter and start a new tradition with her. Here’s a sneak peek into her basket of goodies!

Easy Cheesy Pull Apart Bread

I made this bread for Thanksgiving for my family... haha I'm awful at getting food recipes up I know. Laziness is the only reason why I haven't gotten this post up yet, but here it is! The bread seriously killed it at  our dinner. And by killed I mean it in the best way possible- ask my family as we had to fight over the last of this bread (even the last of the leftovers). I'm a huge fan of recipes that are easy, but look like it took a lot of effort. This recipe is one of them.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1/2 c green onions
  • 1 roll of sourdough bread ( I couldn't find it uncut so I bought the sliced stuff)
  • 1 package of mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons or so of poppy seeds
  • 1 stick of butter
DIRECTIONS:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Melt butter and then mix in poppy seeds and green onions.
  3. Slice your bread to create pockets. My bread was already pre-sliced, so all I had to do next was to slice it the opposite way creating more pockets .  (just like you would cut a french stick for garlic bread).
  4.    Add in all the cheesy into the all of the nooks and grannies of the bread. - Don't be shy ! I added so much cheese and then added more cheese because I had more leftover in the fridge.  After cheese is in place drizzle over the butter mixture.
  5. Wrap with foil and bake for 15minutes until the cheese has mostly melted, then unwrap and bake for 5 minutes more to make the bread nice and crusty.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!

001.Most days I really love being a working mom but it really does kill me a little inside knowing that because I work a lot, I also miss a lot of time with B. The other morning she decided to wake up at 3:30 am and talk to her Mowgs so that I would come and get her. I always cave in and sat there rocking her in her rocking chair and singing her favorite songs. It put her at ease and back to sleep.; which made my entire day. I really hope that I get to experience her being a snuggle bug even when she gets older; I just won’t tell her that I enjoy it. [:

002.Daily walks with Haidyn have been our way of getting out of the house to catch some fresh air and for me to lose these pesky last pounds of post pregnancy weight! On the days that it’s nice enough to play at the park, we usually spend a good 30 minutes playing and crawling around the jungle gym. She loves the slide and swings more than anything else at the park.  I love the way she will sit there quietly on our walk while I sit there and talk her ear off. While we’re at the park, we switch roles on who is talking [: Our local park is about a mile there and a mile back. It’s a great exercise when I commit to it. I also like to walk us to the store instead of taking the car. It is an uphill battle getting to where we need to be because we live in NW Reno, but it’s such a good workout that I don’t mind it at all.

003.Speaking of the weather. .. I’m starting to get so excited about how amazing the weather is starting to be!! I’m crossing my fingers that it’ll stay that way for B’s party next month.  We get to do so much more things because of the nice weather. We usually end up having picnics at a new park, early morning hikes and just playing at the park! We have become the family that is allergic to indoors when the sun is out. Can you blame us though? The weather has been too wonderful  to stay indoors, which is perfect because us being out all day wandering tuckers Haidyn out.

004.Haidyn’s birthday party is in the works. The theme is “ The Very Hungry Caterpillar” ! I totally have  everything set in my mind and I can only hope I transfer it all to paper for the big day. I really want this celebration to be big for her. I’ve gotten her birthday gifts ( I will post a link to my gift soon) and birthday outfit ( I will post this link too after her party/photos are done)  so you know I’m extremely anxious to get this party rollin! Our family is a HUGE help when we need to get decorations done. We try really hard to be creative and it usually turns out amazing.

005.Weight loss is always on my mind. I don’t know why it is but it always is. I’ve read a lot about detox teas since a lot of my friends are using, but thanks to me being a cheapskate I cannot shelf out $45.00 for a box of tea. I wanted to find a tea that would reduce bloating and just help me with my weight loss ( as I have about 5lbs more to lose). I found one while I was at Whole foods just wandering in the aisles- Allegro Organic Spring Clean Detox Tea. And good thing I wandered because this stuffed worked wonders on me. I didn’t change my eating habits at all, but it definitely changed them for me. I wanted to eat less and I craved healthier choices rather than all the junk I really wanted. The tea is sweet and definitely hit the spot when I wanted to just snack for no reason. As it doesn’t promote weight loss I didn’t assume that it was going to make me lose a ton of weight, but in the end of my 20 tea packets I did lose a lot of bloating and 4 lbs give or take. I definitely will be getting more!

006.Thanks to time hop I was also reminded this week that Waymon proposed to me 3 years ago on March 18th. We were talking about how crazy it is that so much as changed in just 3 years. I remember that we had talked about marriage before him proposing a lot and he would just shrug it off as if he wasn’t really paying attention to what I was saying. Low and behold he definitely was. He chose the best ring and he listened to every word I said. He caught me by surprise with the proposal. Gah!  I can’t help but just love him since he still surprises me every day.

007. Haidyn also celebrated her first St.Patrick's Day! I had no idea how much we don’t wear green until Waymon had to TRY and find something green for B. Poor girl had to wear her Easter dress a little early just because she really doesn’t have anything green. We have teal but nothing green.  I’m sure she would’ve been fine with just a bow, but Daddy had to put her in something green. We ended up eating lots of green for dinner though! For dinner we had Ricotta Spinach stuffed Chicken with creamy parmesan rice and for dessert we each had a St. Patty’s cupcake from Mix Cupcake Co. Dinner was delish and Haidyn didn’t say anything at all during dinner because she was too busy stuffing her face. ( Queue Proud Mama Dance HERE) Waymon and I loved the cupcake dessert though. OH MY GOODNESS they were soooo good. Haidyn had a Vanilla Bean one and ate it all. It was her first time having a cupcake and she loved every bite of it. Waymon got a Mint Chocolate one while I got a Chocolate Guinness one. We halved each other’s cupcakes so we could share. Let me just tell you my Oh My Guiness cupcake was uhmazing! It was a Guiness chocolate cake, Jameson filling and Bailey’s Irish Cream Cream Cheese Icing. Mmm I already miss it.
