Eggplant Week

Out-takes from today ha!

How far along? 23 weeks!

Total weight gain/loss: 130.2 this week. +1 lb from last week and an overall weight gain of +11.7 lbs.
All the weight is in my lower belly and I look like an alien. bahahah.!

Maternity clothes? Maternity jeans all week this week. I bought another pair from Old Navy with the demi panel, but I kind of sort of just really hate them. I might exchange them for the full panel. My belly just looks so awkward in the demi panel.

Stretch marks? Nope! Thank you Jesus!

Sleep: I've taken a couple naps this week. On Sunday especially I slept ALLLLL day... and no that's not an exaggeration. ( I wish it was) It's getting really irritating sleeping on my sides and my back is starting to hurt from it. I've caught myself sleeping on my stomach and it's so awful. I quickly roll to my side when I notice the latter.

Best moment this week:

Hmm... well drum roll please....         SIGNING THE LEASE !!                                              I'm so excited to have signed the lease to our new rental home. It's so surreal that we found our home. We've lived in 3 different apartments since we moved to Reno 3 years ago and I can't wait to be in a home!!! I can't wait to set up baby girl's room and have company over. :D
Waymon and I were taking a nap together a couple days ago and while we were laying there his hand was on my belly. Baby girl was kicking where daddy's hand was. AWWWWW! I wanted to cry.
I also got to celebrate my best friend's 26th birthday this past Sunday. It's always nice to spend time with her and her family ( now my adopted family) whenever I possibly can. Blog post to come on this:)
I also went to see No Bragging Rights. They had a good set. It was nice to get out of the house and do something new especially since things have been so crazy with house hunting.

Miss anything?  I really miss being able to lie down on my back. I get soooo paranoid about it that I freak myself out..

Movement: KICKING!  This past week, baby girl and I have been bonding over what I've been laughing at. Every time I laugh she seems to kick me to tell me she thinks it's pretty funny too.

Food cravings: SAVORY! I finally am able to eat a steak without wanting to hurl!! YAY!! I wanted to eat as much as possible before I hate it again. It was so good... mmmm. I also craved pizza from Whole Foods ( 2 slices for 5 bucks!). And right about now... mandarin oranges.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing really this week. HORRAYYYY!

Gender: little miss :)

Labor signs: No No No.

Symptoms: Vision is still blurred but getting a little better and backaches. I just want a back massage every day!

Belly button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? On!!

Happy or moody most of the time: EXTREMELY HAPPY!

Looking forward to: Moving into our home! Christmas with the family :) Decorating our home. Decorating baby's room. Seeing my girl on my birthday! The new year! 2014 is going to be a good year!

Spaghetti Squash Week

How far along? 22 weeks!

Total weight gain/loss: 129.2 this week. No weight gain from last week:) So I'm still at an overall weight gain of +10.7 lbs.
Baby girl is also weighing in at about a pound!!!

Maternity clothes? Maternity jeans!! I love my pair for Old Navy even if they are too big.

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: I'm sleeping like a baby. I literally come home after house hunting with Waymon, eat a snack and pass out. I think I'm catching up on my sleep since we've been super busy.

Best moment this week: House hunting with Waymon:) It's nice envisioning the baby's room. We also met with our first pediatrician on Monday. It was nice seeing that they care about their paitents.
We both liked her so we hope that we can stick with her.

Miss anything? Nothing really. I REALLY love being pregnant at this point.

Movement: KICKING & TURNING! Baby girl is still moving a lot. It hurt when she was turning earlier this week, but her kicks are still giving me butterflies. She loves music playing at all times. She moves with the music no matter where she hears it.

Food cravings: Anything sweet right now. I turned down salmon for a poptart.. need I say more?

Anything making you queasy or sick: People's laundry softener. I have to be around a lot of people at work and when they walk by or stand close to me with their pounds of softener on I can't stand it.

Gender: little princess <3

Labor signs: No No No.

Symptoms: Backaches and heartburn this week, but nothing too bad. I'm also losing my vision a little bit. My vision is blurred and it sucks not being able to see at times. I'm already blind as it is!! :(

Belly button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? On. It's really loose at times so I take it off so I don't lose it.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy Happy Happy! I'm blessed to be living the life I'm living.

Looking forward to: Tomorrow I'll get to see one of my favorite bands .... No Bragging Rights :D
We'll be doing more house hunting in the next couple of weeks. I can't wait for Christmas with both sides of the family!! And of course, seeing my favorite girl on December 30th (my birthday!!)

Last Few Weeks in Pictures :)

I've been meaning to put up this blog since Thanksgiving. I know, I know I'm awful. Better late than never, right? ha The last couple of weeks have been crazy busy. We spent Thanksgiving with my family this year. It was incredibly mellow. We ate at a simple buffet in Sparks and afterwards we watched "Catching Fire". Last Thanksgiving we made lunch for both of our families and it was so hectic.. especially because we just moved into our apartment. I'm glad we won't be doing that again until next year with the baby.
Mom & Me

Jon & Mom:)

Mom & Waymon:)

We've been house hunting for a new rental home for our expanding family. I can't even begin to tell you all how exciting that has been. Picturing all of our stuff in our new home plus giving a home to our baby girl's stuff is making everything feel a little more real. :) We sent in an application for a house. We're hoping to hear back sometime this week so we can finally start packing!! I've never been so excited to move in my life:)

Aside from house hunting we've been lounging at home. We figured that since our days are numbered in our last home without kids we'd savor these last few months. We realized that our family is growing and we probably won't be able to just sit around and watch SVU all day with Sass anymore :( Sass has been enjoying her days as the "baby" of our family. She is attached to Waymon's hip ALL THE TIME now. It's so cute. Where ever he goes ( and it doesn't matter where) she'll follow and tag along. He will sit in his room for hours playing his video games and she'll be right at his feet cheering her Daddy on. She is also loving being around all of H's clothes and diaper boxes. She throws her hair tie or mouse at the boxes as if they're going to magically throw them for her to fetch. I think she's settling into the idea of being a big sister.

After we found out the sex of the baby we got to eat lunch from the GourMelt truck here in Reno. Thanks to Stacy who contacted them!  If you haven't tried it you seriously need to. They have thee best grilled cheese sandwiches ever. I know you must be thinking I'm a crazy woman for telling you that, but they have so many different options for grilled cheeses it will blow your mind. I had the Rise and Shine which included an egg, bacon, cream cheese, cheddar cheese on Great Basin Brewing Co's Icky bread along with a side of garlic fries. I tried to eat it all, but I couldn't :( I ate all the fries though! ha Waymon and I are pretty big supporters in trying local restaurants here in Reno. You can't beat the quality of food.

Gourmelt!!!

Rise and Shine
Waymon and I have been scrambling to buy everyone in our family presents this year. It's so odd to me that we love and know them so well that we NEVER know what to get them for Christmas. This year we hit all the deals for everyone and shopped for about an hour. We spent more time looking at baby clothes and gear than anything else. Whoops! Sass is addicted to the wrapping paper this year, so I decided that she will be wrapping everyone's presents. I don't think she minded too much. :)

Now getting to this past weekend.. Stacy, Chris and I had a friend date which consisted of our favorites: cupcakes from Batch Cupcakery and tea from Too Soul Tea co. Both places are local and so worth going to. We're regulars at both places and I'm good with that. :) From Batch I got their "S'mores" cupcakes (and smashed it) while from Too Soul I got their December special "Peppermint Hot Coco". I had chocolate overload and couldn't eat anything else for awhile, but it was soooo worth it!

DIY Breast Feeding Scarfs Part II

I've gotten the hang of sewing these bad boys. I'm pretty impressed on how easy it is to make these scarfs. I noticed from the last time I made these from the Pinterest tutorial I followed, that mine are thicker since I am sewing four ends together instead of two. I'm okay with how thick it is because when I do use this in public I would like MAXIMUM coverage. Both scarfs below are smaller in length than the previous tutorial. It's shorter on the neck when I put it on.  I think I might make it a yard and a half next time I find a cute fabric. :) There was a sale at Joann Fabrics this week for 60 % off for most of the fabrics. This store is literally my heaven. I went for the first time with Chris and Stacy this past Sunday. I could DIE in there. ha!

Instructions :
-Start by laying fabric out on a solid surface. I laid mine on the floor. My fabric was folded in half (length wise) when I laid it out. My fabric was 36 in x 22 in. (Typical fabric in half from the store, you could cut the fabric in half lengthwise again to make it thinner. I would test out what you'd like.)

-Fold the fabric up ( it should measure 18 in x 30 in) .
-Pin the opposite side of the fold and sew. I sewed mine using a needle and thread :) I don't have a sewing machine, but if I did I would cut close to the seam of the pinned side when finished.
-I went through what I sewed one more time to secure the thread. It took me about 30-35 minutes again for each!

CUPCAKES!
ha! Sorry for Sass
Folded in 1/2
Finished product

 DIA DE LOS MUERTOS!

TIME: 30-35 MINUTES
PRICE : $14.00 FOR two, 1 yard fabrics from Joann

Next project, I think it'll be sewing an infinity scarf for Baby H:) ah!

Papaya Week

How far along? 21 weeks!

Total weight gain/loss: 129.2 this week. BAH! That means a +2.4 lbs gain from last week and an overall weight gain of +10.7 lbs. When my OB said that it wouldn't be hard for me to gain weight he was right! With last week being Thanksgiving I've been eating a looooooot. hahah whoops :D

Maternity clothes? Maternity jeans this week. My regular jeans' zipper was hurting my belly :(

Stretch marks? None , just the old ones from when I was growing up. :)

Sleep: I'm on high alert these days. I think it's from everything freezing over. I want everything to be prepared so that we aren't rushing in the mornings.
Best moment this week: My brother swearing into the Army :) It's so weird seeing him grow up so fast. I know it has to happen it but you know...  We did a walk through of a perfect rental home. They can only hold it for 10 days so we have to wait to put in our application :( But it was seriously so perfect and it felt like home <3 Also making my first apple pie! I feel so domesticated haha.
Miss anything? Nothing really. I'm use to being pregnant now.

Movement: KICKING!!! Ahhh our baby girl is strong and I'm loving it. It freaked me out in the beginning since it felt like bubbles but mommy is loving it.

Food cravings: HOT CHEETOS!!!!!! AHHH. I love spicy everything right now:)

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing really this week! :D

Gender:                      GIRL GIRL GIRL!!

Labor signs: No No No.

Symptoms: Backaches and heartburn this week, but nothing too bad.

Belly button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy Happy Happy! No bad days for this mama.

Looking forward to: Looking into more rental homes and seeing my girl on my birthday December 30th!

DIY breast feeding infinity scarf

Pinterest is AMAZING!! I got this project from Pinterest last week. I made the scarf for under $10!! I didn't want to pay a ridiculous price for a breast feeding scarf for the baby. These things are seriously toooooo expensive in store. I love the idea of the infinity scarf because it's simple and versatile.

-Start by laying fabric out on a solid surface. I laid mine on the floor. My fabric was folded in half (length wise) when I laid it out. My fabric was 72 in x 30 in.
-Fold the fabric up ( it should measure 36 in x 30 in) .
-Pin the opposite side of the fold and sew. I sewed mine using a needle and thread :) I don't have a sewing machine, but if I did I would cut close to the seam of the pinned side when finished.
-It took me about 30 minutes to sew the entire thing up. I finished sewing in the time it took me to watch the new episode of  'The Mindy Project'. ha

Tada! All done:) It's simple and easy. I will definitely make more for myself. I think I want to try a simple black and make it a little smaller in length.

Thankful November

A lot of people have been doing a daily update on Facebook of what they're thankful for, I decided that I would write down what I am thankful for on here instead.

01. My wonderful husband Waymon. I'm blessed that I found the love of my life at a young age and married him. <3 I don't know what I would do without my best friend by my side forever. He's my biggest supporter in everything I chose to do in my life whether it's getting fit, going to school or changing my line of work. He takes care of me even when I'm too stubborn to ask for help. He makes me laugh the way no one else can and makes me smile bigger than anyone else can. Most importantly, he's given me the best gift I could've ever asked for this year. I've never met someone so kind and loving.

02. My mommy:) She is the woman who I see myself becoming more and more of everyday. I only aspire to become half the woman she is when I grow up.  She is the strongest person I know. She's overcome so many obstacles in her life and she is still strong and positive. She really does know best. I'm thankful that my mom is one of my best friends.

03.My brothers: Chris & Jon. Growing up with two brothers isn't easy, but it's taught me that I can't be a sissy like every other girl. I've gotten my butt whooped on my birthdays, ridiculed for my wardrobe/ makeup/ hair choices and everything else in my life, however I'm thankful to say that these two are the people that keep me down to Earth everyday. We've had our share of bad times, but we only remember the good times. I swear if we get anymore alike we'd be triplets. I wouldn't be the woman I am today without these to numbskulls :P

04. My best friend: Brigid. I've been best friends with Brigid since 4th grade. She's always been my rock even though she lives so far away. I haven't seen her since I was 10 years old, but when we talk it seems like I just saw her yesterday.

05.My best friend: Stacy. She's the sister I never got. She is one of the kindest people I've ever met. She has the biggest heart. She's my personal cheerleader as I am with her. I go to her for everything. She is going to be thee best Auntie to H-bomb come April. I love her family and they have made me apart of it. I'm so thankful I met Stacy through work and have been able to  call her my best friend.
Bonnie Cat<3

Sassafras

06.My babies: Bonnie & Sassafras<3 My babies mean the world to me. They keep me on my toes everyday. Most of my furniture is torn to shreds, my bed/clothes have been peed/pooped on, litter is always EVERYWHERE as well as their toys, but I couldn't picture my life any other way. I love the chaos that these girls bring my life. I love their individual personalities. Bonnie is sweet and loyal like her daddy while Sassafras is naiive and rambunctious like me ;) I don't get why they don't get along, but I know that when Waymon and I are away they love each other.

07.My job . I've gotten an amazing opportunity to become Inventory Control at my current job. I never thought in my life that I would like dealing with numbers and product all day, but I've got to say that I do love what I do for a living.

08.Having a roof over my head. The typhoons in the Philippines make me ever so grateful for the roof over my head. When I think that my apartment is too cramped, I think about how I'd rather have a cramped space than nothing at all.

09.The food I've gotten to eat. Many of you know that I'm a food lover (especially with me being pregnant). I'm glad that everyday I get to eat something filling to nourish me and my baby.

10.My health. I've taken a lot of tests through my OB and I'm glad that I am healthy-healthy enough to carry growing baby H .

11. My nieces and nephews. I love my boys K&J. These boys are growing up sooo fast that I can't even imagine them being grown men soon. :( Auntie loves her boys. My girls KK, A & A are all beautiful little ladies. They are the light of our family. They are all spunky and keep the entire family in "AWE" with how unbelievably cute they are.

12.The clothes on my back. I have A LOT of clothes ( and I know that, that is a huge understatement). I'm grateful that I have clothes to keep me warm and comfortable for every season. Never will I take advantage of the latter, since I've seen many of my own family members go without clothes on their backs.

13. The Wells Family. I'm blessed to have married into a family that love me. The entire family accepted me  with open arms and without hesitation. I can't imagine to be apart of any one else's family. A lot of people don't get to speak to their in laws often nor do they care to, but that isn't the case when it comes to my family.

14. My coworkers. I spend more than 40 hours with all of them weekly and they are the people that keep me sane everyday. We are one huge family and I am always to happy to see each and everyone of them.

15. Being able to enjoy life for one more day. Everyday I am thankful that I get to experience one more day on this Earth. I try to keep positive everyday and not let one dumb thing get in the way of allowing me to be happy. The bad in this world cannot triumph the good that I have been blessed with in my life. I'm counting my blessings.

16. My baby girl<3 I cannot wait to see her in the flesh. I've never loved someone so much without even being able to physically hold or see them in my life. I love her more than anything in this world. I am still in disbelief that I will be a mom come April 2014. I've never thought of myself to be the "mother" type, but when I see her sonograms, feel her move or see her move I know that this is what I was put on this Earth for. I am meant to love her unconditionally and protect her forever.
