January King Arfur Barkbox

Let's get it over with, if you haven't noticed yet my little Frankie is very spoiled. Therefore, he gets everything that I want for him. That's how it works right? Well that's how it works in our house. :) He gets a lot of toys and attention because he is the baby of the family right now. Just as long as he's loved, I don't think he really minds. I've been oogling over the barkbox for him for months now and finally caved to get him one. 

For those of you that don't know what a Barkbox is it's a monthly subscription box for dogs that comes with 3 different treats and 2 different toys for your pup! The boxes are themed every month so all of the goodies inside match the box itself and it's the cutest thing ever. This month our box is the King Arfur box that includes all things medieval. 

Haidyn was really jealous that her brother got a special package and she didn't, but she quickly got over that. Frankie was over the moon for his new toys but the treats really threw him for a loop. So you know the treats are delicious! I can't wait for his next box!

80 Day Obsession | Week one

I needed a swift kick in the ass the start of the year. I had all of the best intentions of working out all week and I just couldn't do it. I was bored of the workouts and not excited at all. I made every excuse to not workout and I hated it. Working out is the only time of the day that I get to myself and sometimes it's not even that. So for me to not workout, it takes a lot out of me because I didn't have that little time to myself. Mom's all of you out there know this struggle too. Shower/ toilet time is not your alone time. I was waiting to start this program in February, but I couldn't wait any longer and started it last week. I was ready for a change. 

I sucked it up and started this new program and brought myself to a whole new mindset. I saw everyone's one week progress and couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe that their results after only one week were that amazing. So I gave it a week and believe it or not this program works. I can't believe that I've made that much progress in just one week. My stomach is flatter, my obliques are getting more defined and my booty is getting a little raise! One week guys! ONE WEEK. Let's see what next week will bring!

January Meal Prep | Week Five

It's another busy week in the Wells household. I'm trying to keep my head on straight while I juggle life. That seems to be the story of my life! Right now, work has got me swamped and this meal prep is saving my life. I'm starting to become chained to my desk. But, I'm honestly thinking about meal prepping dinners to ( to a certain extent) . Which I'm sure that I'm going to do soon. Waymon's already convinced!  This is another week inspired by the Pioneer Woman but with a healthier twist! Shout out to Waymon for taking pictures of this week's meal prep! Little secret behind the scenes of these pictures is that I stand on our bar stools to take these pictures and because I'm so sore from this week's workouts I couldn't even get up on the stool. :( So my wonderful husband stood on this stool, feeling all kinds of foolish just so I could have a blog picture :)

OUR MEAL PREP

BREAKFAST – Coffee and Almond milk

SNACK 1 – Protein Shake and Fruit

SNACK 2 -  Blackberry Overnight Oats 

LUNCH – Chicken (Tofu)  Bake w/ Brussel Sprouts and Rice  /OR/ Smothered Pork Chops w/ Mashed Potatoes and Veggies 

DINNER – 2 cup veg, 1 3/4 cup protein

Today, marks a month of adopting our sweet little shit Frankie home. I mean that with all love in the world. It’s time to finally formally introduce him to the SUNNYINRENO blog universe! After all, I’m sure he’ll be on here quite a bit.  Believe it or not Frankie is thee first boy that we’ve ever brought home! Waymon’s plan to be the only man in the house has been tossed out the window because this little guy was too irresistible not to adopt. I told Waymon that since I was being ignored for the past 7 years of having all girls I would finally get to ignore him for another man ( only kidding, but seriously who cares about Waymon with Frankie around :) ).  We bought Rory from breeders and this time around we knew that we wanted to save a puppy. Haidyn and I walked through the halls of the Northern NV SPCA for just about a month enduring countless heartbreaks and let downs before finding our little prince charming.

Frankie is an Australian Shepheard originally from Elko,NV. The kindest lady at the SPCA introduced us to Frankie and his siblings, but I chose Frankie because he’s the only one that wasn’t eager to meet me or Haidyn. Apparently, I love guys who love playing hard to get. He shyly warmed up to the both of us and after that I knew that he would fit perfectly in our family. Oh and his killer blue eye ( oh yes you read that right) was a deal breaker for me.

Frankie’s name originates from our favorite TV show Dads. Most of you already knew what shows he’s named after, but for those of you that don’t know he is named after Frank Reynolds from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and Frank (Francis) Gallagher from Shameless. Thankfully, he’s not a turd like either of those dads! Frankie is the most well behaved puppy you’ll ever meet . The only time he’s misbehaving is when him and Haidyn are rough housing or when he meets new people. Which of course, in time he will stop jumping on new comers. He’s smarter than any puppy we’ve ever brought home (sorry Rory). He’s low maintenance and loves to do his own thing. He’s the best cuddler you’ll find and absolutely loves being out at Hootsee and Papa’s house. He’s very protective of us and is always on high alert. I thought that pitbulls were protective and boy was I wrong. This guy is beyond protective at only 4 months !

With Frankie in our lives, we’ve found a new reason to smile and love again . Obviously, Sassafras loathes Frankie and all that he is, but that old hag sucks anyways so her opinion doesn’t count. Frankie finds a new way to pull on your heart strings every day. Poor guy has so many nicknames that he has to keep track of , but he gladly will answer to all of them. Just to name a few of his nicknames are ; Frank, Franklin, Frank and Beans, Frankenstein and my personal favorite Francois. Waymon has found his new side kick in protecting the house and fellow shithead.  Haidyn has been upgraded to “Ate Haidyn” (Ate in taglog is older sister) , a new best friend and someone to cause trouble with. And I’ve found my new running partner , fellow morning pal and the son I’ve always wanted. He came into our lives at the most perfect time and saved us.
