This holiday season I wanted to focus more on presence than
anything else. The phones were on silent at our home while we gathered to eat
too much fun and really appreciate one another. We laughed so hard at our
favorite TV shows and movies. We spent
Thanksgiving morning at my in-laws for our lunch. My mother in law ( MIL)
whipped up the best Thanksgiving meal, which even included her homemade
cranberry sauce. (We’re total pinterest freaks so holidays are HUGE
for us! Just so you know. ) I left feeling stuffed.
Haidyn was still feeling
under the weather until we got home for our Thanksgiving dinner so she didn’t
get to enjoy too much at my in laws. But once we arrived at home she was a
completely new person and she “made” our thanksgiving dinner.
The rest of our weekend consisted of us scooping out the
late black Friday sales . We were on the hunt for flannels for the family for
our family picture at Kohl's and everything else for the family. Alright, you
got me most of the things we bought were for Haidyn but you get the picture.
She loved hanging out with her Lola and me while we went shopping. She’s a girl
after my own shopaholic heart. We spared the details to Waymon, just so he didn’t
have a heart attack.
After our shopping shenanigans, we spent the rest of our time at home, enjoying our beautiful Christmas tree and creating new recipes out of our thanksgiving leftovers (btw turkey soup w/ turkey stuffing dumpling is BOMB) . Bring on the countdown to Christmas!
