21 Day Fix| Week Two

Week two has come and gone and I’m feeling stronger and more confident than ever before. I’ve regained a little more self-love this week and that is just so amazing to me. The beginning of this week during my workouts and during work my clothes were literally falling off of me! If that isn’t a win I don’t know what is. My meal prepping has been on point and I’ve been making it a routine with everyone to make sure all the prep is done for the week. If you don’t meal plan, I don’t know how you do it! I know that without meal prepping I was a hot mess when it came to making everyone’s lunches. I feel so much more prepared with prepping and it left me with MORE time to spend with the girls and Waymon.

HIGHLIGHTS OF WEEK TWO

Weight loss total: 5.4 lbs!!

Confidence

This is one of the biggest changes that I’ve seen in my journey through team beachbody. In a short period of time, my confidence level has grown. I couldn’t believe how much better I was feeling about myself. It’s definitely a combination of working out, eating better and being surrounded by like-minded people to keep me up. It also didn’t hurt that my clothes started fitting like they use to. I’m feeling more and more comfortable in my own skin.

 Tiredness /Craving

Since I work so much, I don’t get enough sleep. On average I use to sleep 4-5 hours max. Its awful I know. However, now I’ve been crashing so hard! I’ve been getting closer to 6-7 hours of sleep. I don’t feel like I’m dying at the end of the day nor am I wanting to nap! How amazing is that? I’m also dodging all of my cravings. I'm having to force myself to eat most times because I’m not hungry. I’ve gotten to point where I’m not craving for the food truck that comes to our work weekly.  That’s definitely a Shakeology benefit. My entire family is now getting into the kitchen to help me make dinner or meal prep.

Progress

I’ve always doubted myself but this is just proof to trust your struggle. I’ve upped my weight this week and pushing further and further into every single workout.

I’m ready to tackle week three! Bring it on!

21 Day Fix Approved | Meal Prep

If you're trying to keep on track with your weight loss/ fitness or just trying to keep your life together (food wise),  meal prepping will save you time and money. I feel more prepared for the week when we meal prep. When I say "we" , I mean that this meal prepping is a family event. Everyone is in on helping with planning, cooking and preparing the meals. We've grown accustom to wake up every Sunday morning  and get to working in the kitchen . I can't get over how excited Haidyn is to help us in the kitchen. So many forget that this is just as much as a learning experience for us as it is for her. Below is our meal prep for this week!

JANNINE - MEAL PREP
BREAKFAST - Shakeology, 1 tsp oil ( nut butter/ coconut oil) and fruit
SNACK 1 - Veggie egg cups /OR/ 2 hard boiled eggs and veggies
LUNCH - Chicken sausage potatoes, black beans and spinach/kale /OR/ Chicken burrito bowls w/ black beans
SNACK 2 - Toast w/ avocado  /OR/ Toast w/ cheese
DINNER - 1 cup veg, 1 3/2 cup protein, 1 cup fruit

WAYMON - MEAL PREP

BREAKFAST -  Veggie egg cups  w/ toast /OR/ 2 hard boiled eggs, veggies and dried fruit
SNACK 1 - Toast w/ fruit and yogurt
LUNCH - Chicken sausage potatoes, black beans and spinach/kale  & Chicken burrito bowls w/ rice
SNACK 2 -Crackers, cheese and turkey
DINNER- Protein shake, nut butter and fruit

A lot of people are skeptical because it looks like it takes such a long time, but in actuality it takes us about 2 hours from start to finish. 2 hours of our Sunday is saving us countless hours so that we can do more together throughout the week. 21 Day Fix eating plan has our entire family eating real food without "dieting" . We are not on a diet we're consciously making better food choices together. 21 Day Fix get us through our days full ! Most days we can't even finish our prepped foods. All of the food that we have extra of are used for our dinners. We're a busy family in which our work hours are crazy and Haidyn is always on the go, meal prepping makes us feel we have at a little more control over our already hectic weeks.

21 Day Fix | Week One

I’m staying on top of my new year’s revelations and sticking to my goals. I want to make sure that I make the most of out of this year.  As a new member of team beachbody what better way to make sure I stay on top of it than to work out, drink shakeology and being living proof that this program works!? Out of all of the programs out there on BOD (Beachbody On Demand) I chose 21 day Fix to start with. You can’t beat 30 minutes a day of working out. As many of you know I don’t have a lot of time to go to the gym and workout. BOD has changed all of that for me. Right from home, I’m able to set aside 30-40 minutes a day and take time for myself to workout. This program right here has changed everything. It’s changed the way I eat, the way I workout, everything. This program makes you feel like YOU CAN achieve the impossible if you don’t give up and push through the struggle.

My drive to finish and push through these workouts has given me so much motivation it’s incredible. Just in one week I can see the difference in myself, not just in weight but my self-motivation. You gotta love those endorphins.  I stayed on point with workouts and the meal plan and I’m loving the results so far. Currently, I’ve logged in 7 workouts , 7 shakeos and I’m down 4.0 lbs. How can you beat that? My goals are no longer just me saying them, I’m writing down my goals to make them attainable. I’m determined to achieve them!  My BB challenge group as well as my friends and family are all so supportive in my goals for this year, which is key for my success. Here’s a quick glimpse of my first week of 21DF.

Snow & Rain

Once every couple of years Reno gets hit with a pretty hard snow storm and of course with it being Reno and it never knowing what it really wants it also rained. I know it’s odd, but hey that’s Reno life for you. Any who, it snowed and rained so therefore we had both snow and rain days! When we moved up north in Reno we knew that we were going to be hit with snow more often than before, but we had no idea it would be this much snow! The snow up at our home is beautiful. As you can see the snow makes our girl pretty darn happy. As soon as she sees flurries she’s determined to play in it ( or at least just lay in it). Rory even got some of the snow action this past weekend, but of course was terrified of the rain.

All silliness aside, here in Reno it’s been pretty scary the past few days due to all of the snow and rain. Our rivers are now overflowing with water ( thank God) but now it’s a little too much with how heavy it did snow the past few days. The pattern will continue and I’m hoping that everyone in Northern NV area remains safe. Haidyn’s school was closed due to the flood warning this past Monday so we had an unexpected three day weekend . I swear, it feels like she’s barely going to school lately , but I can’t complain when I have her all to myself. We took full advantage of staying in our PJ's all day and relax. What else can a couple of gals ask for?

2017 Blogaversary!

The New Year is here and it’s the anniversary of the blog! I started this blog now four years ago documenting my life and today it’s evolved into so much more than that. I can’t thank all of you enough for supporting me and this blog. It means so much to me that many of you take the time to read through many of my blogs whether it’s for my family or if it’s for a recipe to share among your friends.

This year I wanted to grow with myself and my blog. I wanted to write more and self-reflect a little more during this New Year. I wanted all of my goals to fit under the same word or category if you will. My word of 2017 is love.  Whatever I do this year I want to do it with love. I want to love myself more, love my family more and give more love out.  I know that there is so much animosity in the world that I don’t want to be a part of. I want to be the person that loves and gives love to anyone that needs it. I want to grow into that person this year and I can’t wait to see the difference it makes in my life this upcoming year. If I don’t love doing it, I won’t do it. It’s as simple as that. With that being said, let’s get onto the

Workout out daily & Eat better
I’ve taken the time to join Team Beach body for 2017. I wanted to get my healthy lifestyle back just like I did four years ago when I started this blog. So far I’ve worked every day and am motivated to keep on it. I would like to lose the weight (no longer baby weight) that I’ve gained from being just plain lazy. But more importantly, I want to be able to find inner peace with myself and my body this year so that I can love myself more as I become healthier via mind, body and soul. It’s important to me to become healthy in all three of those things.

Organize & Simplify
I want to simplify my life. I don’t want the clutter in it anymore. That goes with everything in life. Starting at home I want to organize things so that I am able to find everything and not freak out. I’m a worry wart as well as a control freak and organizing and simplifying would help me ease up. If we don’t need, then I don’t need to buy it!

Blog weekly
As a part of my weekly reflection I’d like to set a goal to blog about anything at all at least once a week. I want to grow in my blog and concentrate on the content of my blogs this year.

Thank you once again for your support and love for this blog. I wouldn’t love blogging as much as I do without all of you guys.

Happy 2017! Let’s get it this year!
