Oh “Chicken” Tree , Oh “Chicken” Tree

I absolutely love this time of year. Everything about this time of year, though very stressful especially as a mom, is oh so magical. I stood my ground to decorate for Christmas the day of Thanksgiving, after we ate of course. I broke the rules, but I was too excited.  I was apprehensive about the Christmas tree (or “Chicken” tree as Haidyn puts it) being up because of Rory, Sass and of course my hurricane Haidyn. But, so far Haidyn is the terroriz-er of the tree. She can’t help but examine all of the ornaments on the tree and then proceed to run away with all of the ornaments. Haidyn's favorite ornament is the one we made last year of Sass's paw print ( precious right?), while mine is our Jack Skellington ornament we got from Disneyland.

I’ve given up trying to actually “decorate” the tree because I know that in due time all of my ornaments on my Wolfpack themed tree will be destroyed soon enough. At the end of the day, I’m just happy that my girls love this time of year as much as I do. Nothing in the world can beat the feeling of watching all of them actually enjoy this time of year and light up as the tree lights up. Being a Mom is so wonderful isn’t it?

Here’s hoping that, that magic will stay with them forever.

Thanksgiving 2016

The suitable title for this blog is “The No Picture Thanksgiving” but since I took some pictures that can’t really be the title. Now, with that being said I took almost no pictures this past weekend. I had 4 ½ days with my babes and didn’t bother to take pictures. Waymon says it’s because we were enjoying our time as a family and I think he’s right. I’m usually always behind the camera trying to capture every moment that I’m never IN the moment. The little pictures I did take captured my girls at their best . Playing together and having the time of their lives.

This holiday season was probably the best we’ve ever had. We ate too much,  we laughed , danced like crazy people, decorated the house for Christmas and enjoyed each others company. We even woke up to a little snow Sunday morning which made my entire weekend. Because if you know me I love a little snow all thanks to GG . ( Can I also get an amen for the GG revival I totally binged for 6 hours).  This has been the best weekend ever! I’m hoping Christmas is this relaxing!

Happy Monday!

Superstay Lipstick

Most of you, if not all of you know how much I love lipsticks. It’s my staple in my everyday makeup. I just gotta have it. I’m a girl for affordability and long lasting lipsticks. I need to be able to go without a ton of touch ups so that I can keep being on the go.

I tried out the red lipstick on a “Mom’s Date Night” with my fellow Mom friend . We went out to eat dinner and grab drinks and this lipstick was my BFF. No touch ups whatsoever and it still looked flawless at the end of the night . * blurry after picture is brought to you by 2 amaretto sour’s .

Without hesitation, the next day for work I decided to sport the nude lipstick of the set . The color was very promising and would with anything for work, however when I applied it the color pay off just wasn’t there for me. It didn’t stay on at all and by the time 1 hr had passed I was so discouraged that I took off the lipstick completely.
What I do love about these lipsticks is that they are affordable as well as wearable. It doesn’t feel sticky or stiff when you put it on and being comfortable wearing a long lasting lipstick is important. I was a little bummed that I didn’t like the nude lipstick better , but I am in love with the red. I’m convinced that the darker shades of the line would be right up my alley.

I received this product complimentary from Influenster and Maybelline for testing purposes, all opinions are my own.  Thank you for supporting the brands that make this blog possible.

The Boa Vista Trip

We took our annual trip to Apple Hill this past weekend and we finally got to take my mother in law up with us! We were so excited, but we didn’t anticipate Haidyn to be under weather during our visit. I knew she wouldn’t be feeling 100% the entire time but I figured this trip would be her at least somewhat better. I was wrong. We made it through those windy hills, I almost hurled because the Dramamine didn’t work, Haidyn threw a fit for being in the car too long and we made it to one orchard. It was a bit of a mess, but it wouldn’t be our family if everything went perfect.

Now, I must say that though we only made it to one orchard, we made it to our favorite orchard Boa Vista. It’s probably one of my favorite places to be. There were no more pumpkins but the apples were overflowing. We stopped to eat lunch here and if you haven’t had lunch here it’s a must. The food is simple but delicious. Even my picky eater ate! This orchard is always so packed because of everything that is going on. You can’t beat a sampling station for their fruits as well as a hard cider/wine sampling! During our trip, I was determined to get our Thanksgiving apple pie and I settled on their Dutch Apple Pie. Mmm.. I can’t wait to bake it!

After we bought all of our goodies, Haidyn and I headed to the Pu
mpkin Patch with no pumpkins. She was sad that everyone tossed the pumpkins over the fence but she was happy to see them all none the less. She was impressed that now she can run around like all of the other kids.

Next year, we will definitely be back with the entire family minus the crankiness of being under the weather (also an attitude adjustment on my end) and finally see more than one place in October. We’re just not November Apple Hill people with my kid obsessed with all things pumpkin.
