Yesterday, we headed out to Apple Hill for the day. It was Waymon and Haidyn's first time being there. Haidyn went as a little embryo last year, but that doesn't really count :) I was nervous for Haidyn being in the car for over 2 hours since it was her first time doing so , but she did so good! Waymon and I were both proud of her that she kept herself entertained and asleep.
We made it to 2 stops in Apple Hill. We were in the hunt for a baby pumpkin for Haidyn and some good apple foods. First stop was Boa Vista Orchards. This was definitely my favorite place in Apple Hill. Waymon and I ate bacon burgers with garlic fries , that we quickly regretted due to our breaths being rank the entire day. On the plus side, the burgers were phenomenal . Haidyn ate the tomatoes off our burgers and milk. After we ate our quick lunch we crossed the street to scout out some pumpkins. We didn't find a pumpkin small enough for Haidyn to hold, but she did enjoy picking up hay and trying to eat it. We went back to the orchards to look through apple everything, but the lines were ridiculous so we ended up just looking at all of the vendors and leaving shortly after.
Our second and final stop was Apple Ridge Farm. Haidyn was napping for a lot of this farm, so we didn't get to the cool animals there, however she did wake up just in time to see more pumpkins and hay! She made friends with the cold pumpkins by babbling to all of them she could touch. After he babble session we left her friends to go eat an apple sundae ( filled with caramel, vanilla ice cream and a apple doughnut) and a caramel apple. Haidyn flirted with everyone that gave her attention at the farm and didn't mind that it was ridiculously crowded.
Haidyn wasn't ready for the camera, |
She took her own selfie instead. |
We headed off to Roseville after our adventures in Apple Hill to the mall and Vietnamese food. As you can see Haidyn was excited to be eating some good Vietnamese food. :)
We didn't find our baby pumpkin, but we'll be on the hunt for one in at our local Pumpkin patches. We can't wait to go next year when she'll be running a muck at these farms.
