Lil' Miss Designs Accessories Monthly Bow Subscription- Month Nine

Christmas is soon and I received my November bow shipment! For November I ordered an octonauts, batman and a Christmas bow. I received a snowman, octonauts and the Christmas bow! I’m finally back on schedule with all of my bow reviews too. There are only 3 more months to complete my year with Lil Miss Designs Accessories.

The snow man bow is so cute. I love that it’s white and has a little snowman in the middle of the bow. Haidyn is in love with the snow and I can’t wait to show her a snowman bow!

The octonauts bow will also throw her for a loop. The octonauts is one of her favorite shows, favorite theme songs I should say. She will be so excited to wear her favorite characters!

My favorite out of the bunch is the Santa Christmas bow! She will get to wear for Christmas this year. I love how subtle Santa’s belt is on the bow.

Thank you again Lil' Miss Designs Accessories! I’m already anxiously waiting for my Fall/Holiday bows!

Spinach Artichoke Pull Apart Bread

I love pullapart bread. Last Thanksgiving I made some and it was delicious. I love how versatile the recipe is. You can stuff bread with anything and add cheese and call it good. It's a people pleaser and it was so easy to make that it was a no effort put together appetizer.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 loaf of store bought sourdough bread ( I made my own garlic, poppy seed, rosemary French bread for this recipe).
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 2 garlic cloves, diced
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped ( I used frozen, thawed over night and drained)
  • 14 oz can artichoke hearts, drained well and chopped
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Slice your sourdough bread first one way, then the other, making a cross-hatch and being careful not to slice through the bottom of the loaf.
  3. Stuff 3/4 a cup of cheese in the cracks of the bread. This while hold the bread open so you can pour all the other goodness in.
  4. Melt the butter and sauté the garlic. Then add the spinach, wilting it, and finally the artichokes, coating them well in the butter and spinach mixture.
  5. Carefully spoon the mixture into the bread over the cheese. Top with the remainder of the cheese and then tent with aluminum foil and place on a baking sheet in the middle rack of the oven. Bake covered for 20 minutes and uncovered for a final two minutes. Serve immediately.

Santa Baby

Every year, my work has an open house for us to bring our families to tour the facility and to meet Santa. Last year, we brought Haidyn to meet Santa and to our surprise she loved him ( she was more interested in his beard than anything). We stopped by Starbucks before the open house to get a little breakfast. (FYI Haidyn is not impressed with the hot chocolate, but she fought me for the cheese Danish.) She showed off her fancy Christmas dress to everyone and proceeded to dance the entire time we were there.

This year, we were a little apprehensive about Haidyn meeting Santa. Everyone said that we got lucky the first time and that maybe this time she’d cry because of him. But before we knew it she stared at Santa for a split second before letting him pick her up to put on his lap. It was the most precious thing! I can’t believe how big she is now.

Seeing her with Santa was the highlight of our day. The highlight of her day was to sit at my desk and work. I’ve already got a workaholic on my hands. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree does it? My desk totally looks like hers too.

My open house definitely put us in the Christmas spirit! Christmas we're ready for you!

Lil' Miss Designs Accessories Monthly Bow Subscription- Month Eight

For the month of October I ordered a Frozen, green camo and thanksgiving bows. I received a batman, green hunting camo and a thanksgiving bow.

The batman bow is amazing! I love how simple the black and yellow is on the bow, but how it brings out the batman logo so well. She doesn’t know who he is just yet, but I’m sure in time she will. After all she’s named after one of the characters.

The green camo hunting bow is not at all what I was looking for. I completely even forgot that there was a green hunting camo since I was looking for a military tradition camo bow, but it will do. I don’t know if Haidyn will actually wear this one much as the rest of her bows.

Lastly, the Thanksgiving bow finally came in. She wore it on Thanksgiving and it looked so adorable! As you k now my favorite bows out of the entire collection are all of the holiday bows. They blow all of the other bows out of the water!

Emily’s Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers

This is a friend's recipe that I had to steal. Emily brought these to our work potluck and I've been in love ever since. I hate jalapenos, but anything wrapped in bacon is good in my book. At first, I thought they'd be too much and too spicy but it turns out they're probably the best party food you can have! You're going to have to be glutenous with these bad boys when you make them  because they will be gone before you know it. We had these for Thanksgiving this year and they were to die for! Thank you Emily!! You know how much I love these.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 12 fresh jalapeño peppers
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 12 slices bacon, cut in half
  • 24 toothpicks

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 400F degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Place a baking rack on top of the baking sheet.
  2. Cut the jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise; remove seeds and center membrane.
  3. Using a handheld or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic, and paprika together until combined. Salt to taste - I add just a pinch.
  4. Spoon filling equally among all 24 jalapeño halves.
  5. Wrap each stuffed jalapeño with a half slice of bacon and stick a toothpick through the center to assure the bacon stays in place.
  6. Place each on the baking rack and bake for 25-28 minutes or until the bacon is crisp to your liking. *Turn the oven to broil for the last minute or two to get things extra crispy.
  7.  Serve immediately.
  8. Cover leftovers and keep in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  9. Make ahead tip: Jalapeño peppers can be stuffed and wrapped 1 day in advance. Refrigerate until ready to bake. You can also assemble and freeze up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and bake as directed.
