Oh “Chicken” Tree , Oh “Chicken” Tree

I absolutely love this time of year. Everything about this time of year, though very stressful especially as a mom, is oh so magical. I stood my ground to decorate for Christmas the day of Thanksgiving, after we ate of course. I broke the rules, but I was too excited.  I was apprehensive about the Christmas tree (or “Chicken” tree as Haidyn puts it) being up because of Rory, Sass and of course my hurricane Haidyn. But, so far Haidyn is the terroriz-er of the tree. She can’t help but examine all of the ornaments on the tree and then proceed to run away with all of the ornaments. Haidyn's favorite ornament is the one we made last year of Sass's paw print ( precious right?), while mine is our Jack Skellington ornament we got from Disneyland.

I’ve given up trying to actually “decorate” the tree because I know that in due time all of my ornaments on my Wolfpack themed tree will be destroyed soon enough. At the end of the day, I’m just happy that my girls love this time of year as much as I do. Nothing in the world can beat the feeling of watching all of them actually enjoy this time of year and light up as the tree lights up. Being a Mom is so wonderful isn’t it?

Here’s hoping that, that magic will stay with them forever.

Recycle & Revamp

The two things you must know about me is that 1) I love a bargain and 2) I love to DIY. I am forever seeking the best deals and typically the best deals require some work, which I don’t mind since it saves me a little more than I would have. When we revamped our table to a farmhousetable, I also decided to revamp our chairs. I bought our chairs from a thrift store when we first moved in together as a married couple a few years ago.

The chairs were this awful gray color that we believed look so great with the rest of our décor in our home back in the day. New chairs were going to cost me around $50-$90 per chair. Now as you can see that wasn’t going to pair well with my beautiful table so I decided to redo them with a simple black glossy paint. Simple, easy and classic.  In love with what a can of spray paint can do! All in all, redoing all my chairs cost me about $12!

Fall Home Decor

We’re a Halloween family.  I don’t know what it is about this time of year but we literally lose our shit at the store over all of the Halloween décor.  If you know me I have an obsession with skulls (that's putting it lightly) and when we decorate for this time of year it doesn’t seem too out of the norm. Haidyn has come to love this time of year as well. Where ever we go she is on the hunt for pumpkins and “scaries”. She’s a girl after my own heart. I'm excited that I finally get to be the person that decorates her home for every small occasion.

Our décor this Fall needed to incorporate Halloween but Fall as well. Everything in our home smells and looks a little like fall.  Nevada isn’t letting up with the heat as of late, but it will get to sweater weather soon! I’m thinking a trip to Apple Hill is in order!!

Happy First Day of Fall! XO

All That is Dipped is Gold

My obsession of decorating our home is rapidly coming over me. I wanted the more rustic look in our home since nothing, and I mean nothing in our home stays in pristine condition. I’ve tried and it never works in my favor, so deciding that our décor would be a little more rustic chic is perfect for us. My touch to our home is gold- literally. I love the gold dipped look in our home so much that I just about did it to everything. Can you blame me and my love for all things gold? It gives our space a little flare that’s unexpected.  Crazy how far some gold paint and painters tape will take you. I revamped our old tables and vases!
