99 Cent Store Grocery Haul

I know that you read that title and either you 1) rolled your eyes or 2) sucked in by the fact that I shop at the 99 cent store for groceries. I don’t mess around when it comes to budgeting for food. I don’t want to waste anything in our home. I buy just enough food for us to have little to no extra food to ensure that everything truly gets eaten. The 99 cent store has a lot of good food if you just take the time to look around a little bit. I’ve gotten so many things from the store that I know what to get and what not to get there.  They never have the same type of foods there so it’s always hit or miss when I go, but this particular trip I found a lot of gems. Here is a list of some of our staples.

99 CENT STORE STAPLES
Applesauce
Crackers (varies)
Canned goods ( beans , enchilada sauces and etc )
Breads ( they have a wide range from Texas toast to English muffins )
Apples (for Rory)
Berries (strawberries, blueberries and etc.)
Carrots
Broccoli
Bacon
Potatoes / Sweet potatoes
Frozen Veggies
Beans
Mini Peppers

Costco Healthy Shopping Haul

Shout out to Costco to having so many great healthy food options from beverages to produce. A lot of what we buy from Costco is now organic. We don’t intentionally purchase all organic (with exception to apples because that film is just gross) but I’m so glad that Costco is allowing us to see better food options for a fair price. I try to always buy in bulk as I only shop for our family twice a month and it allows us to keep things fresh. Eating clean for us means that we eat a lot more fresh food (that doesn’t typically have a long shelf life because it’s fresh). Understanding fresh and clean food really puts your food choices into perspective. I’m finding that I’m becoming more aware of what we’re eating as a family.

NYX Ulta Haul

Lipstick is definitely one of my must haves when it comes to makeup. When it comes to selection and affordability you can’t beat NYX.  Recently, they had a buy 2 get 1 free promo at Ulta and I knew I had to snag a few of the couple shades I’ve been dying to get my hands on. As you can tell I love my dark or nude matte colors, but I’m also trying to branch out to more spring bright colors such as pinks and corals. I’m also guilty of looking for dupes for the popular brands because I can’t justify the cost of a brand new Kylie Jenner Lip Kit to my husband. Thankfully, NYX has almost every popular color out there duped!
