This dessert is a perfect spring dessert for Easter! It’s
easy to recreate and so damn delicious. My mother in law and I always go back
and forth on FB to find our family a new dessert (aka we find recipes so we can eat it all by ourselves) and this was
such a hit for EVERYONE!
INGREDIENTS
CRUST:
- 2 cups crushed pretzels
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons sugar
FILLING:
- 2 cups whipped topping
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
TOPPING:
- 2 packages (3 ounces each) strawberry gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 packages (16 ounces each) strawberries
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Stir together crushed pretzels, melted butter and 3 tablespoons sugar; mix well.
- Press mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes and set aside to cool.
- In a large mixing bowl cream together cream cheese and 1 cup sugar.
- Fold in whipped topping.
- Spread mixture onto cooled crust.
- Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
- Stir in strawberries and allow to set briefly.
- When mixture is about thick spread on top of cream cheese mixture.
- Refrigerate until set 30-90 minutes.
