Strawberry Pretzel Dessert




This dessert is a perfect spring dessert for Easter! It’s easy to recreate and so damn delicious. My mother in law and I always go back and forth on FB to find our family a new dessert (aka we find recipes so we can eat it all by ourselves) and this was such a hit for EVERYONE!



INGREDIENTS 


CRUST:
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons sugar


FILLING:

  • 2 cups whipped topping
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract  
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar


TOPPING:


  •  2 packages (3 ounces each) strawberry gelatin
  •  2 cups boiling water
  •  2 packages (16 ounces each) strawberries


DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Stir together crushed pretzels, melted butter and 3 tablespoons sugar; mix well.
  3. Press mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  4. Bake 8 to 10 minutes and set aside to cool.
  5. In a large mixing bowl cream together cream cheese and 1 cup sugar.
  6. Fold in whipped topping.
  7. Spread mixture onto cooled crust.
  8. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
  9. Stir in strawberries and allow to set briefly.
  10. When mixture is about thick spread on top of cream cheese mixture.
  11.  Refrigerate until set 30-90 minutes.
