Thanksgiving 2018

I always look forward to Thanksgiving every year not just because of the food but because of the amount of time I get to spend with my family. We spent this holiday week at the movies. We’ve never been at the movies this much before, but I enjoyed it. We watched Fantastic Beasts, Wreck It Ralph and Creed II !  Haidyn loves going to the movies now which is just a plus to her movie taste! I’m sure that watching a movie on thanksgiving will be one of our new traditions.

Thanksgiving day , MIL and I bundled up to walk/ run the Fernley Turkey Trot with the wonderful KAIA ladies.  She ran, I walked snail speed.  We planned a simple dinner menu with a ton of easy appetizers for us to snack on all day long. Does it get better than endless apps?   We all spent the day in comfy clothes with exception of Haidyn dressing up for pictures. Oh yes, we faked those pictures pretty well. No mini-vacation time is complete without sweats. We’re finally getting the hang of relaxing during this time of year.

After spending a few days in Wadsworth , we sped back home to put up our Christmas tree! Oh yes, the entire house went from Fall to Winter in 2.5 seconds. Haidyn and Frankie were all about this decor change. Can you tell they absolutely love this time of the year?

Halloween 2018

I'm that Mom that will do anything I can to make sure we have matching Halloween costumes as a family. This was very difficult this year because Haidyn is always dressing up regardless if it is Halloween or not. She lives to be in anything that isn't "normal" clothes. I can't even be mad because her dressing up everyday is just so rad. This year she couldn't figure out what WE should be together as a family so I mad the executive mom decision and decided that WE were all going to be Costco themed !

I mean come on! No one else is more obsessed with Costco than us and more important Haidyn . There's something about a Costco hot dog and pizza lunch that just does something to ya girl. Also , this was probably the easiest costume that we've ever put together as a family. I needed something quick and easy after coming back from vacation and this just solved all my worries.
This was the first time we've ever trick or treated in our own neighborhood and Halloween that we got to also spend with Waymon! Last year , he didn't make it to trick or treat with because of his work schedule but not this year. :)  It was such a good turn out for a neighborhood that doesn't have a lot of kids in the area. I was so pleased that we all had a great time hanging out in our own neighborhood stress free.

Genoa Candy Dance

We’ve never been to the Genoa Candy Dance, but apparently is a thing here in Nevada.  ( Like a big thing ) It’s so much closer to home than our usual Apple Hill trip. (I’m still so sad that we won’t be making it to Apple Hill this year). Haidyn was excited to go with the family because of the name of the event alone. Sadly, she was disappointed that it wasn’t a festival dancing around to candy. She envisioned an entire crowd getting down while throwing candy in the air.

Even without the candy throwing dances we had a great time spending the day shopping with all the "gypsies" as Waymon would call it. It was an entire girls day event ! We traveled to Genoa with all the girls and ran into our BFF little sister E along the way. Aren't they the cutest?!?

This event was so neat!  I know that the next time we go I have to bring a lot more money ( or my own lunch) and go a earlier than we did. We didn't get any candy Haidyn actually liked  but the experience was worth it over all. It was a beautiful day to relax and walk around with the family.  Haidyn was thrilled to go home with new RIDICULOUS unicorn bedazzled headbands and the most obnoxiously loud fake gun money can buy.
